Have you ever asked the question: “Why use a travel agent when I can book online and save a third party markup?”  At Endless Travel, we feel that this question is asked daily by thousands of travelers and more often than not, the assumed answer is incorrect.

To get straight to it, did you know that you can get the same rates posted online or even directly contacting a resort as you can through a travel agent?  The perception is that a travel agent is a third party and therefore costs more for their personalized treatment.  Have you ever thought of your online booking tool as a third party? You should.  Have you considered that resorts don’t give a one-time client the same price as an agent?  No matter where you purchase your travel amenities, there is a built in cost for marketing and advertising.  The only variable that changes is who gets those built in marketing and advertising dollars.

Booking Online

While it can be convenient to book online and sit down anywhere to research, compare, and book, you will be hard pressed to find anything special among the “specials” that are thrown your way.  The companies competing in the search rankings for your business have to generate a lot of content to feed the search engine gods and pay a lot for online ads, as that's a competitive world.  This strategy is efficient and good for corralling the masses, but personalized service is not the goal.

Booking Directly

If you book directly, you will get personalized service, but you will not get impartial service.  In addition, the costs will be the same, as the resort will use those same marketing dollars to reinvest in their own marketing plans.

Booking with an Agent
